Debriefing Experience
Introduction: My accreditation in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing was through Jeffrey Mitchell who was responsible for the methodology. I was also trained in Israel by Lt Col Zahava Solomon, in Combat Stress Response. Dr Solomon was head of research in the longitudinal studies of PTSD. I have kept up to date with training trends in this area through ISTSS and the Association of Military Practitioners.

1989- 1991: Australian Federation of Airline Pilots; during the airline dispute I regularly debriefed pilot executive. (References and ABC publication record).
1991- 1994- Malaysian Airline System Malaysia- Debrief of crews after aircraft incidents and accidents.
1994- 1995- CARE Australia CISD of CARE staff in CIs in Rwanda and Congo

1995- 1998: SPOC for Northern Defense- responsible for selection, training and leadership of Rapid response CISM team. Various CIS.
1998: US Embassy Bombing, Nairobi- Debriefed National Council of Churches staff injured in bomb blast. Debriefed Deminers in Yirol, South Sudan.
2000- 2001- - Kosovo IRC CISD of guards in violent robbery.
CISD of US KFOR soldiers in accidental killing of Albanian boy.
CISD of Greek KFOR CO in Vitini incident.
CISD of Jordanian UNAMIR policeman in firearm incident.
2001- 2004 – North Caucasus and Moscow.
CISD for Australian and other hostages in Nord Ost Theatre Siege on behalf of Australian Embassy Moscow.
CISD of DRC staff in Mine incident – Chechnya.
CISD of Russian NGO Country Director held hostage for 6 months in hole in ground, Chechnya.
CISD of CARE and MVD guards after FSB incident.
2006-2007 UNICEF Kilonochi, Sri Lanka.
